Ain't I a woman?

Many years ago, when Sojourner Truth uttered these words in her speech, she was asking why her anatomy as a woman should disqualify her from any given task or position since she did almost every task men did.

Today as we watch history made with the First Female, woman of color as Vice President in the United States, I imagine in the theater of my mind how our Female ancestors feel right now. I imagine the look on their faces from Elizabeth Candy Stanton, Susan B Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Ida B, Well, Maya Angelou, Ruth Bader, Professor Aize Obayan, my mother and and host of others space will not allow me to mention. Indeed Maya Angelou's word said it all " Though I come as one, I stand as ten thousands " .

I hope that one day ,we will get to that place where it is normal to have anyone with character, competence and empathy lead without discrimination.
