Kids & Kings: Happy Father's Day!

There is a certain current that runs through my body, mind, and soul when I hear people talk about the fatherhood of God. It reminds me so much of my father -- My"Velvet Gloves." Pa. Remilekun Johnson Popoola.

Imperfect as he was, My father demonstrated what my PoP calls one of the many examples of masculinity as our savior exemplified during his earthly work. He was a man with emotion enough to cry at the tomb of his friend (Lazarus) even though he was divine and yet strong to call him out of the grave. The balance of strength and emotion. Fully integrated with his divinity and yet not ashamed of his humanity.

I came to many definitions of fatherhood long ago; one is that a father refuses to let the kid in him ruin the king he is. The King and the Kid can be one in ways that is fully human and yet divine when we learn many things, including emotional intelligence and learning to discern between weakness and wickedness.

One man said Fathers give us feathers, wings with which we fly!
