Prophecies 2025: Viewers' Discretion is Advised. Part 1

The woman sitting next to me took her things and moved far from me. Social distancing began in the Church even before COVID-19. Others looked at me as ‘weird’ and probably wondered why I hadn’t stayed at home. If the event was not of interest to me, why come?

The man of God prayed, “This year, you will carry your Samuel! I did not say Amen. I know pregnancy doesn’t jump on people; the only woman who had that kind of pregnancy is still debated more than 3000 years later. A situation that one of my undergraduate classmates said was when “Jehovah, Adoni ma yoko” (I refuse to translate this) did his mysterious work.

“You will give your children in marriage!” I did not have biological children. “Your mockers would soon come and celebrate with you!”. I rolled my eyes. I don’t like bad energy. What will my mockers be doing at my party? If Niniola had sung that song then, I would have said, “Ma gbe ese Kese wa sinu party wa.”

I didn't say Amen to the prayer because none of these prayers related to my goals that year. It took me a while to reach this point in my faith walk, but I am happy it is where I am. My Pentecostal cousin will say I could have stood in the gap for somebody. Careful attention to the prayer reveals that the prayers were not phrased in that way to allow me to stand for anyone. And even with that, I had outgrown those religious cajolings that forced you to say Amen. When God found no one to stand in the gap, he did the task himself(Isaiah 63:5). God is not handicapped by my participation or non-participation.

Closely linked to this, when content is likely to be harmful or triggering in media, they advise that viewers engage their discretion. To avoid conflating individual opinions with institutions, they say, “The views and opinions do not reflect the views and opinions of the management.” In books, you read, “The author and publisher specifically disclaim any liability incurred from the use or application of the contents of this book.”

With a vantage point that has been tempered by time and experience, I think discretion applies to prophesy. Every now and then, you will hear prophecies, and I believe that God speaks and his ways are mysterious, yet I want God to surprise me and not life. It is not about self-limiting; it is about practical wisdom. Armed with the wisdom of experience, ‘wounds,’ and a clear vision and standard, and given all the history of political, football, and professional prophecies we have received, isn’t it high time we held this position humbly yet firmly that discretion is advice with prophecy?

I will confess to you that I did not always have discretion. If I did, they would not have sold beef jerky to me as killishi twice in America or other times that I walked into the store and saw ten brands of cornflakes with different forms of flavors, tangerine, and blueberries; discretion should have told me this is part of capitalist merchandising if tangerine or watermelon is 'hungering' you, why not eat that instead of all these “serere”. But you see, my discretion sometimes goes on vacation without authorization, and my only prayer is for it to return early or 'face the consequences of dereliction of duty' (inside jokes)

As you claim all the prophecies for 2025, take responsibility and weave strategy into your prophecy. Discretion is not the same as suspicion or skepticism; define the boundary between the two for yourself.

I’d like to point out that readers’ discretion is advised for all my posts and those who observe my life.

To be clear, I still hold Odumeje to his prophecy about dollar sha, or we shall meet in court.
